Energy security has become a major issue for the industrialized nations. Not only the guarantee of supply, but also the environmental impact and socioeconomic development increasingly have to be taken into account.

These issues cannot be addressed effectively on a national level alone. This project aims at stimulating dialogue about the pressing issues of energy security between Japan, Germany, and the Western industrialized countries.
