Symposium on Climate Protection and Law in Japan and Germany

Climate protection is an urgent goal shared globally and receiving a high degree of attention in politics and the media.

Germany and Japan face similar societal and political challenges in the field of climate protection. Not only are there economic, social, and technical problems to overcome, but also legal ones. The implementation of climate protection must take place in a constitutional manner and touches almost all areas of law.

This symposium aims to provide a framework for a comparative legal exchange between Japan and Germany, including addresses by the State Secretary of the German Ministry of Justice and the Japanese Vice-Minister for Justice, with the goal of finding sustainable solutions together.
